Man arrested in connection with Georgiana murder | Crime
GEORGIANA, AL (WSFA) - The Butler County Sheriff's Office says one person is now in custody nearly a month after a 72-year-old widow was found murdered in her home.
The body of 72-year-old Dorothy Leatherwood was found in her home on November 14. Authorities launched a death investigation and later determined the incident to be a homicide.
Today the Butler County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of Shawn McClain for the murder of Dorothy Leatherwood.
McClain was arrested at his residence where he was living with his father at the time. A bond hearing is scheduled for Friday afternoon.
